Disability Diagnosis in the Child & Adolescent Department in Recent Three Years

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the distribution of disability diagnoses of child & adolescent psychiatric outpatients in recent 3 years. The authors diagnosed 699 disability cases for 711 patients. The most common diagnosis was intellectual disability (485 cases or 69.4%) followed by autistic disorder (173 cases or 24.7%) and language disorder (32 cases or 4.6%). For the age groups of 0 to 3, 4 to 7, 8 to 13, 14 to 16, and 17 or above, intellectual disability ranked first in all age groups: 10 (52.6%), 63 (56.3%), 170 (66.9%), 114 (81.4%), and 128 (73.6%). For the yearly distribution, the number of diagnoses of intellectual disability was 174 people in 2009, 295 people in 2010, and 242 people in 2011 year.
